Hospital and school visits, autograph sessions and pre-game pep rally headline planned activities
TORONTO, Sept. 24 /CNW/ - The hockey world will descend on Dundas, Ontario - winner of this year's Kraft Hockeyville 2010 competition - starting Sunday, September 26, 2010 for three days of festivities and memorable moments. Residents from Dundas and Hamilton will have an opportunity to meet NHL(R) players past and present and take photos with the ultimate hockey prize - The Stanley Cup(R).
Kraft Canada, CBC, The National Hockey League (NHL), The National Hockey League Players' Association (R) (NHLPA), and the Kraft Hockeyville 2010 committee in Dundas are inviting media to attend these special events in conjunction with this year's Kraft Hockeyville celebrations.
Other planned activities include; hospital and school visits by former NHL(R) greats including Dave Andreychuk, Danny Gare, Brad Marsh and Shawn McEachern; to the highly anticipated finale - a 2010/2011 NHL(R) pre-season game between the Ottawa Senators and Buffalo Sabres played at J.L. Grightmire Arena in Dundas on September 28, 2010.
The Kraft Hockeyville competition gives communities across Canada the opportunity to experience the excitement of an NHL(R) game first-hand from their local arena. Dundas will host a 2010/11 NHL(R) pre-season game between the Ottawa Senators(R) and Buffalo Sabres(R) and received $100,000 in arena upgrades courtesy of Kraft Canada. Four runner-up communities; Bishop's Falls, NFLD; Stanstead, QC; Cranbrook, BC; and Lawrencetown, NS have received $25,000 each in arena upgrade money from Kraft Canada.
The one-hour special, Kraft Hockeyville: The Game, will air Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 9:30 p.m. E.T. on CBC and CBCSports.ca.
