CHARLOTTETOWN, PE, Nov. 8, 2018 /CNW/ - On behalf of the Honourable Seamus O'Regan, Minister of Veterans Affairs Canada and Associate Minister of National Defence, the public is invited to an Open House in the atrium of the Daniel J. MacDonald Building after the Remembrance Day ceremony held at the Charlottetown Cenotaph.
This year, the theme is the 100th anniversary of Canada's Hundred Days and the First World War Armistice. Along with displays of uniforms worn by those who served Canadians over the years, oil paintings, replicas of monuments and historical flags, visitors will see how Veterans Affairs Canada serves and commemorates Canada's Veterans. The Canada Remembers Chorus will sing songs of remembrance while visitors browse the hands-on displays and learning materials.
This Veterans' Week, November 5-11, Canadians are encouraged to reflect on freedom and the fragility of peace. Remember the Canadians—past and present—who have served and sacrificed for Canada.
