SUDBURY, ON, May 4, 2017 /CNW/ - The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) will hold a news conference in Sudbury on May 5 to discuss the impact of the recent provincial budget on health care and how it fails to meet the needs of northern Ontarians.

"Finance Minister Charles Sousa tells us his recent budget represents a magic wand that will lift the dark clouds over the health care services of our province," said Sara Labelle, OPSEU Second Vice-President and chair of the union's Hospital Professionals Division. "It isn't. If anything, this budget only reinforces the fact that when it comes to healthcare spending on a per capita basis, Ontario ranks dead last among Canadian jurisdictions."
OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas will host the news conference.
