MONTREAL, May 13, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to the announcement of an exceptional donation from the Trottier Family Foundation to create the Trottier Energy Institute (TEI) at Polytechnique Montréal as part of the Campus Montréal major fundraising campaign. The campaign brings together HEC Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal and Université de Montréal.
The announcement will take place Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 5 p.m. at the Galerie Rolland in the main building of Polytechnique Montréal. In attendance will be Lorne M. Trottier, co-founder of Matrox and President of the Trottier Family Foundation; Thierry Vandal, Co-Chair of the Campus Montréal major fundraising campaign; John Parisella, Executive Director of the fundraising campaign; and the three establishment heads: Guy Breton, Rector of Université de Montréal, Christophe Guy, CEO of Polytechnique, and Michel Patry, Director of HEC Montréal.
Progressively decarbonizing Québec: it is possible? What are the energy solutions for tomorrow? What does current research say?
The announcement will be followed, at 6 p.m., by a conference titled Toward a 100% Clean-Energy Québec, organized by Polytechnique's Trottier Energy Institute and McGill University's Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design (TISED). The event will bring together experts from Québec and abroad. The conference is open to the general public and will take place in the Bell Amphitheatre in the main building of Polytechnique. The opening messages will be given by Christophe Guy, Chief Executive Officer, Polytechnique Montréal, and Heather Munroe-Blum, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, McGill University.
