MONTRÉAL, Aug. 29, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Many city of Montréal facilities will be open as usual on Labour Day, September 1, while others will operate on a reduced schedule.
However, most central city offices, as well as borough and Accès-Montréal offices will be closed. Information on services offered over the Labour Day holiday is available on the city (ville.montreal.qc.ca) and borough Web sites or by calling 311 or 514 872-0311.
Garbage, recycling and bulky item collection
Garbage and recycling collections, pick-up services for food scraps, green waste and dried leaves as well as bulky item collections will follow their normal schedules, with the exception of the bulky item collection in the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie borough, which is cancelled.
Écocentres and municipal works yards
Écocentres will be open on their regular summer schedules, daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. More information on écocentres is available by consulting the Environment section of the city Web site. Please note that the municipal works yards will be closed on Labour Day.
Sports and cultural facilities
Arenas, swimming pools, sports centres, libraries and other cultural centres follow varied schedules, according to borough. Please call the facility or check the Web site for information on holiday schedules.
The Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard and its outdoor tennis courts will be closed. Information: 514 872-6900.
Space for life
The Biodôme will be open on its regular schedule from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Botanical Garden and its exhibition greenhouses will be open as usual from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Insectarium also will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. .

The municipal court, 775, rue Gosford, as well as its points of service, will be closed on Labour Day.

Parking
Please note that all automatic parking stations remain in operation for the Labour Day holiday and that parking restrictions remain in force.
