/R E P E A T -- What's Open and Closed in Montréal over the Christmas and New Year's holiday 2014-2015/ Français
MONTRÉAL, Dec. 22, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - A number of Ville de Montréal facilities will remain open during the Christmas and New Year's holiday, while others will have a specific schedule.
Most city offices will be closed from December 24 to January 2, inclusive, including all borough and Accès Montréal offices.
PICKUPS
Several pickups will be cancelled, postponed or advanced over the holidays. Please consult the list below. Regular service is maintained unless otherwise listed below.
Note: If snow-loading operations occur on the same day as pickups, we ask that residents remove their items temporarily from the curb or sidewalk to facilitate snow removal.

Kitchen waste pickups
Regular service is maintained in all the participating boroughs, except Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, where the pickups scheduled for December 25 will be held on December 27 and those scheduled for January 1 will be held on January 3.
Christmas tree pickups
The pickup of Christmas trees will be held January 7 and 14, 2015 in many boroughs with the exception of the following:
- Lachine: January 2 through 18
- LaSalle: January 12 and 19
- L'Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève: daily throughout January
- Le Sud-Ouest: January 12 and 19
- Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie, Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension and Ville-Marie: January 7, 14 and 21
- Outremont: January 12
- Saint-Laurent: January 5 through 23, according to sector (a map of the sectors as well as a search tool by address are available on the borough Web site)
- Saint-Léonard: January 5 and 12
- Verdun: December 29 through to the end of January
Residents will be asked to leave their Christmas trees at the curb, without their ornaments, in front of their residence, before 7 a.m. on pickup day. This is a special collection apart from the household waste pickup.
PLEASE NOTE:
If there is a snow-loading operation the day of the scheduled pickups, residents must temporarily remove Christmas trees off the curb or sidewalk to assist in snow removal work.
ECOCENTRES
All ecocentres will be closed December 24 to January 5 (opening on January 5) . For more information on ecocentres, please consult the Environnement section at www.ville.montreal.qc.ca
Municipal yards will be closed December 24 to January 5 (opening on January 5).
SPORTS AND CULTURAL FACILITIES
Arenas, swimming pools, sports centres, libraries and cultural centres will follow different schedules depending on the borough. Residents are asked to contact those facilities, or check the schedules on the Web.
The Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard will be closed from December 24 to 26, inclusive, and from December 31 to January 2, inclusive. Information: 514 872-6900.
The Pointe-à-Callière, Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History will be closed on December 25 and January 1. The museum will be open exceptionally on Monday, December 29, and on December 27, 28, 30 and 31, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum will open its doors at 1 p.m. on December 26 and January 2. SPACE FOR LIFE
The Botanical Garden, Biodôme, Insectarium and Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium will be closed on December 22, 24 and 25 as well as January 5, but will be open on December 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31, as well as from January 1 through 4, according to their regular schedules.

MUNICIPAL COURT AND OTHER INSTALLATIONS
The municipal court, 775, rue Gosford, will be closed from December 24 through January 2. Information: 514 872-2964.
The service counter at 303, Notre-Dame Est, as well as points of service will be closed from December 24 through 26, as well as from December 31 through January 2. These service points will be open December 29 and 30, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
PUBLIC MARKETS
Public markets will be open on their regular schedules most days of the holiday with the exception of December 25 and 26 and January 1 and 2. Schedules are changed for December 24 and 31:
- Jean-Talon and Maisonneuve: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Atwater: 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Bonsecours Market, 350, rue Saint-Paul Est, will be closed December 25 and January 1. Otherwise, the market follows the schedule below :
- December 24 and 31, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- December 26 and January 2, noon to 6 p.m.
- December 23, 27, 28, 29 and 30 and January 3, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
PARKING
Please note that parking pay stations remain operational throughout the holidays and that motorists must also obey the no-parking signs.
