/R E P E A T -- Women's Caucus and Official Opening of the 7th World Congress of Education International/ Français
OTTAWA, July 20, 2015 /CNW/ - Under the theme "Unite for Quality Education", the 7th World Congress of Education International (EI) will officially open at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 21 and run until Sunday, July 26 at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa. In their opening remarks, EI President, Susan Hopgood, and General Secretary Fred van Leeuwen, as well as many other representatives will share their perspectives on why education should take a prominent role worldwide.
This is the first time Canada hosts the EI World Congress and some 2,000 delegates, observers and guests from around the world will jointly develop union strategies to promote quality of education for all.
Also, the Congress provides media with an excellent opportunity to discover the challenges faced by educators around the world and the common goals shared by representatives of 30 million education workers around the world. Many of the delegates can be available for interviews.
