a chance to represent Canada at 2010 Danone Nations Cup in South Africa/
TORONTO, Aug. 6 /CNW Telbec/ - Twenty-four young athletes aged 11-12 have been selected from thousands of soccer players across the country to represent Eastern and Western Canada in the National finals of the 2010 Danone Nations Cup happening on August 8th at Allan Lamport Stadium. The two teams will be competing for a chance to represent Canada at the International finals taking place for the first time in Johannesburg South Africa, from September 30th to October 3rd.
The Danone Nations Cup is a thrilling conclusion to an immense international event and the last component of the large-scale philanthropic activity involving close to 3 million young soccer players. Since its creation 10 years ago, the Danone Nations Cup has become the most prominent event in international youth soccer, attracting athletes from some 40 different countries.
PRACTICE: Date: Friday August 6th, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Location: Allan Lamport Stadium, 1155 King St W, Toronto, ON M6K 1E9 What: The media is invited to attend the team practice, meet the young athletes and take photos with the players and trainers Who: 24 members of the Eastern and Western teams Why: 12 young Canadians are preparing to fulfill their soccer dream and represent their country at an international event!
THE GAME: August 8th from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at the Allan Lamport Stadium: The National Finals between team Canada East and West to determine which will represent the country at the international finals in Johannesburg, South Africa.
