/R E P E A T - What's open and closed in Montréal on Good Friday and Easter Monday/

MONTRÉAL, March 23, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - A number of city facilities will remain open over the Easter holidays, while others will modify their opening hours.

Most city offices will be closed on March 25 and 28, 2016, including all borough and Accès Montréal offices and points of service.

Garbage, recycling and bulky item pickups

The boroughs will maintain household garbage, green waste, food waste and recycling collections according to the regular schedule.

Only the pickup of bulky items is postponed until April 6 in the LaSalle borough.

Ecocentres

Ecocentres will be open on Good Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but closed on Easter Monday. For more information, please consult the Environment section of the city's Web site at ville.montreal.qc.ca.

Sports and cultural facilities

The schedules of arenas, swimming pools, sports centres, libraries and cultural centres vary from borough to borough. Residents should contact these facilities directly to find out if they are open before making plans to visit.

The Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard will be closed on Friday, March 25, and Monday, March 28, 2016.

Space for Life

The Montréal Biodôme, Insectarium, Botanical Garden and Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium will be open to the public according to their regular schedule on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Other facilities

The Montréal municipal court at 775, rue Gosford and the service counter at 303, rue Notre-Dame Est will be closed.

The Pointe-à-Callière Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History will be open all weekend, including Good Friday and Easter Monday. Information: 514 872-9150.

Parking

Please note that parking meters will operate at all times over the Easter holiday and that motorists also must obey no-parking signs.
