Rael: 'Is the age of scientific discovery ending? No! It's barely started!'
LAS VEGAS, NV, Oct. 6 /CNW Telbec/ - After learning that a leading scientist believes the age of scientific discovery to be nearing its end as limits of the human mind make further breakthroughs impossible, Rael, founder and leader of the International Raelian Movement (IRM) vigorously countered that claim in a statement released by the IRM this morning.
"According to Dr. Russell Stannard's new book, 'The End of Discovery,' questions about the content of the universe are becoming so complex that they're impossible to solve," said Dr. Brigitte Boisselier, IRM spokesperson. "And Stannard's view seems to be shared by other authors and scientists who believe in limitations of the human brain. With this in mind, Rael felt the need to make a public statement protesting this viewpoint."
"Dr. Stannard is another primitive and stupid scientist who should have kept his mouth shut," Rael said. "His position is as ridiculous as that of the president of the French Academy of Science who back in 1900 declared that there is nothing left for humanity to discover."
"It is probably true for them, he added. "After all, their vision is obviously limited and aging. Nevertheless, the truth is that the number of new discoveries is increasing exponentially day to day!"
Rael said his vision of the future was explored in his book "Yes to human cloning," in which he explained that the current explosion of exponential discoveries will culminate between 2025 and 2035, a time when we'll know 'all the main concepts and principles that rule the universe.'"
"But even that won't be the end of our discoveries," Boisselier said. "On the contrary, it will be the ground on which to expand our creativity and knowledge forever. There is no end to scientific discoveries, only an infinite flow of them in an infinite universe. Rael has explained this for the past 35 years in his books and public speeches. Our science is still primitive and our scientific discoveries have only just started. But soon we will reach a point where we will not only be able to travel in space but also create life on other planets. And we will also reach eternal life thanks to cloning and the capacity to download our personalities into new bodies, experience any kind of body shape or gender, and go beyond what our imaginations can't even conceive today."
She added, "What Dr. Stannard should fear is not limitations of our brain capacity but limitations of our imagination and desire to go beyond what is known today; in other words, what we should fear is the aging of the brain
