The "La Cité de Mirabel" team and driver Ray Courtemanche Jr. are happy to announce that they will return to the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCaTS) for the 2014 season. The team has added new partners for the coming season, Blackshape Aicraft, the makers of the incredible CF300 Prime ultralight plane, and "22 Racing" who will prepare Ray Jr's cars under the leadership of current NCaTS Champion Scott Steckly. In addition to Steckly, Ray Jr. will partner with another team newcomer, veteran racer Alex Tagliani.
MONTREAL, April 2, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The 2014 outlook for Montreal-based driver Ray Courtemanche Jr. could not be more positive. He and his business partner Daniel Proulx are proud to be back for a fourth season in the NCaTS and benefit from the exposure to help partners La Cité de Mirabel Inc., back for a second year, and Blackshape Aircraft, newcomers to the sport in 2014, achieve their business goals.
The team is proud to be associated with such quality organisations. La Cité de Mirabel Inc. is a major residential and commercial development that will include over 2000 residential units and an important commercial and industrial complex, situated at Exit 28 of the Laurentian Autoroute (15) just North of Montreal. Blackshape Aircraft (www.blackshapeaircraft.com) designed and builds the high performance CF300 Prime ultralight sport aircraft, which Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo referred to as "The F1 of the sky."
Ray Jr. has assembled also a powerhouse team on the racing side. "We have learned a lot over the past three seasons, which will certainly help the La Cité de Mirable Inc. / Blackshape Aircraft effort over the season. Having Alex Tagliani also running under the 22 Racing banner will help develop my personal driving performance, another plus on our way to closing in on the lead pack in every race."
The season starts six weeks from now and Ray Jr. is convinced that the new team members, team leader Scott Steckly and "driving guru" Alex Tagliani will help him to his best season ever in NCaTS. After an 11th place finish in the 2013 driver championship, Ray Jr. has set some goals for himself for the coming season. "I want to be competitive this year, to be able to run hard in every race and close the gap to the lead pack."
We can all expect a lot from the new Courtemanche - Tagliani driving partnership, and you can follow all of the action on their Twitter and Facebook pages.
The first race of the season will take place at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, near Bowmanville ON, 100 km East of Toronto, at (www.canadiantiremotorsportpark.com.)
