TORONTO, Jan. 28, 2016 /CNW/ - With the assistance of community organizations, a child receives health-related services, a single mother is able to provide regular meals for her family and an elderly person can live independently in their own home.
This year RBCers raised a record $21.7 million through its "For the Love of Community" national employee giving campaign and corporate donations to help those in need. RBC has a long-standing tradition of supporting community-based organizations and this fundraising initiative is just one of the ways RBC, and its employees demonstrate their commitment to making a difference in the world.
"I'm incredibly proud of the way our employees and retirees work so enthusiastically to support causes that are close to their hearts," said Dave McKay, president and CEO, RBC. "Whether it's volunteering in local programs or contributing through our national giving campaign, RBCers are dedicated to helping the communities where we live and work."
Today, United Way Toronto & York Region announced Dave McKay as the 2016 Campaign Chair. "I am truly honoured to take on the role of United Way Toronto & York Region's 2016 Campaign Chair and look forward to working with local community leaders to improve lives and strengthen our neighbourhoods," said McKay.
