RBC encourages clients affected by post tropical storm Arthur to visit or call their branch for specialized help
FREDERICTON, July 17, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - RBC today announced that special considerations may be made for clients affected by post tropical storm Arthur. It also announced a $10,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Management Operations.
"After days without power and significant damage to their properties, many people are facing special financial challenges as a result of post tropical storm Arthur. We understand and can help," said Colin Krulicki, RBC Regional Vice President, Western N.B. "Our professional, knowledgeable staff can provide quality advice and assistance to ensure those affected by the hurricane make decisions that are right for their personal circumstances."
Clients whose financial situation was affected by the storm are encouraged to visit or call their personal banker or business account manager. Options might include skipping or deferring mortgage or loan payments, or extending credit services. The bank will also reimburse RBC overdraft charges or interest charges due to late deposits or late RBC bank-related payments resulting from the storm and power outage. "Every client's situation is different so we like to steer away from blanket solutions," said Krulicki. "Personalized advice ensures that clients have solutions that are customized for them and for their individual conditions."
In addition to getting their finances in order, many people are also still managing through the day to day impacts caused by Arthur and are calling on the services of organizations like the Canadian Red Cross. Recognizing this, RBC has made a $7,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross disaster management efforts in Western N.B. Another $3,000 will be directed to South West N.S. and the Annapolis Valley, N.S. RBC, a corporate partner in the Canadian Red Cross Ready When the Time Comes program, also freed up trained staff to work with the Red Cross last week. Three RBC staff from Western N.B. were part of this volunteer effort.
