TORONTO, Oct. 21, 2013 /CNW/ - RBC has been selected as one of Canada's "Top 100 Employers" by Mediacorp Canada Inc. in its annual survey of Canadian businesses.
To develop this year's Top 100 list, Mediacorp examined the recruitment histories of over 75,000 employers across Canada. From this initial group, editors invited 25,000 employers across the country to apply.
The recognition program looks at people practices and was based on an assessment of many aspects of the workplace including training and career development, total rewards, employee communications, diversity, performance management and community involvement.
"The stars in this story are RBC employees, who make the difference for our clients and RBC a great place to work," said Zabeen Hirji, chief human resources officer at RBC. "This recognition reflects a source of our strength - the combination of our employees' ongoing commitment to RBC's vision, their pride in being a part of the RBC team, and the company's commitment to employee success. Together we have all created a workplace where both what we achieve and how we achieve it matters."
RBC was recognized for rewards that go above and beyond traditional compensation, such as flexible work arrangements, a flexible health benefits plan, and career development and opportunities. Employees don't have identical needs and priorities so RBC's programs are designed with the flexibility to enable employees to achieve their professional goals and reach their full potential.
The Canada's Top 100 Employers competition is the largest editorial project of its kind in Canada. This year's winners are being announced today in a special editorial supplement in The Globe and Mail.
