MONTREAL, July 4, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - RBC Royal Bank recently appointed Martin Thibodeau as President, Quebec Headquarters. He will officially take up his position at the end of July 2012, taking over the helm from Micheline Martin, who has headed the bank in Quebec for the past 12 years.
As president, Martin Thibodeau will be responsible for carrying out RBC Royal Bank's strategic objectives and managing business priorities in Quebec.
Mr. Thibodeau joined RBC Royal Bank in 1989 and has worked primarily in Commercial Financial Services, at different levels and in various regions of Canada. In recent years, he held a number of senior management positions, notably as regional vice-president, Eastern New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island; vice-president and chief operating officer, Quebec Headquarters; regional vice-president, Commercial Financial Services, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northern Ontario; and vice-president, Canadian Banking at the Toronto head office.
Mr. Thibodeau has a bachelor's degree in business management from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and an MBA from Université du Québec à Montréal. He also holds the Fellow, Canadian Institute of Bankers designation.
Mr. Thibodeau has actively participated as a volunteer in fundraising activities, most notably with the Associates of the Asper School of Business in Manitoba, on the board of directors of Manitoba's Bilingual Trade Agency (ANIM), with St. Boniface Hospital and as chair of the board of the Winnipeg Royal Ballet.
