Real Sports Bar & Grill opens in the nation's capital

ByWard Market's newest restaurant will provide the ultimate sports bar experience with a 27-foot HD television, 99 HD televisions and 82 beers on tap with 98 menu items

OTTAWA, Nov. 20, 2012 /CNW/ - Ottawa's newest restaurant, Real Sports Bar & Grill Ottawa opened its doors Monday to sports fans of all stripes. The pioneering, award-winning sports bar concept will provide sports fans the perfect place to cheer on their team, while satisfying their discerning palates. Located in the ByWard Market, Real Sports Bar & Grill has the capacity to host 468 sports fans on two levels. 

Restaurant guests will be in the middle of the action with Real Sports' 27-foot High-Definition television screen.  With 99 HD televisions in all - there will be no such thing as a bad seat. The restaurant will feature a VIP Players Lounge with tabletop beer taps, a terrace, a seasonal outdoor patio (still under development), and the biggest HD screen in the city.

Sports fans can refresh with 82 beers on tap, including a dedicated tap to promote a craft or local beer, or sample the Real Sports signature creative beer blends. The expansive beer, cocktail and wine list will be the ideal accompaniment to a menu that offers fresh alternatives and unique twists to traditional sports bar fare. Real Sports has transformed old favourites into new cravings, with dishes like the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls or Quesadilla Sliders. With a $600,000 kitchen, designed to service from-scratch meals, the focus is truly on fresh food. 

Award-winning architects, the Rockwell Group, the design team behind many global restaurants and hotels brands, top Broadway Theatre sets, and the 81^st and 82^nd Academy Awards stages, led the design for Real Sports Bar & Grill Ottawa. The inviting design, features warm, rich tone furniture that uniquely integrates sports elements. A hockey stick chandelier and a basketball net bar design create focal points and help to define the unique spaces within the restaurant.
