MONTREAL, June 27, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Gestion FÉRIQUE is pleased to announce the following appointments, which stem from certain changes to align its corporate governance with the industry's current best practices.
Jacques Laparé, Eng., MBA, who was President of the company since April 2011, was elected as Chairman of the Board for a term of one year. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Université de Montréal, a Bachelor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Laparé had a long career at Bombardier Transportation, notably as President of the Systems Division, President of the North America Division and Senior Vice-President of the Transportation Group. He also worked at Bell Canada early in his career. Mr. Laparé served on the FÉRIQUE Funds Investment Monitoring Committee from January 2008 to June 2011, including two years as Committee Chairman. He was elected to the Board in October 2009, bringing his extensive management experience within large companies to the organization.
Fabienne Lacoste, CFA, has been appointed as President and CEO and now sits on the Board of Directors. She has a Bachelor of Finance from HEC Montréal and has held a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation since 1997. For nearly 10 years, she worked in the asset management advisory area, primarily at Towers Perrin. Subsequently, she was appointed as Assistant Vice-President, Marketing at CIBC Global Asset Management, where she was later promoted to the position of Vice-President of Marketing and Product Development. Ms. Lacoste was appointed Executive Director of Gestion FÉRIQUE in 2004 and has contributed to the growth of the company, which has over $1.5 billion in total assets under management.
Gestion FÉRIQUE also announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors:
Claude Francoeur, Eng., was elected for an initial term of three years. Mr. Francoeur, who holds an Electrical Engineering Degree from Université de Sherbrooke, has worked for 37 years various transportation companies, including Marine Industries, Groupe MIL and Bombardier Aerospace. Since 2006, he has been the President of Canippon Services, an international consulting firm specializing in Asian-North American trade. Also active on the boards of various associations, including the Quebec-Japan Business Forum, Mr. Francoeur brings extensive trade, management and business development experience to Gestion FÉRIQUE.
Nadia Lalancette, Eng., MBA, was also appointed to the Board for an initial term of three years. Ms. Lalancette, a resident of Quebec, has a Chemical Engineering Diploma and an MBA in Business Administration from Université Laval. Over the past 10 years, she has worked with companies like ProMetic Biosciences, Becton Dickinson and BPR. She is now Industrial Program Manager of the Bureau de l'efficacité et de l'innovation énergétiques at the Quebec Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife. Ms. Lalancette has served on the OIQ Board of Directors since 2005, and will bring her strategic vision, analytical mind and innovative ideas to Gestion FÉRIQUE.
Michel Letellier, Eng., has returned to the Board after a one-year break. He will once again bring to the organization his extensive general management, sales and engineering experience and his knowledge of associations. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Université Laval and a Mechanical Engineering Diploma from Carleton University. Mr. Letellier also holds an Advanced Management Course Certificate from McGill University. He has worked at large companies, including Dominion Bridge-Sulzer and Canam, where he served as Vice-President until 2009. Mr. Letellier is one of the founders of FÉRIQUE Funds and has also chaired the Investment Monitoring Committee for many years.
