Record Number of Dairy Queen Blizzards Sold on Miracle Treat Day Nets over $2
million for Children's Miracle Network
Canadians noshed their way through 600,000 Blizzards to support medical care, research and educational programs for children's hospitals across Canada
TORONTO, Aug. 24 /CNW/ - On Thursday August 12, 2010 all purchases of Dairy Queen Blizzards raised funds to help millions of sick and injured children at local children's hospitals across the country. More than 600 Dairy Queen (DQ) Canada franchisees participated in the eighth annual Canadian Miracle Treat Day, which raised over $2 million CDN for the Children's Miracle Network by donating all proceeds from Blizzard sales.
"I'd like to thank all Dairy Queen customers for buying a record number of Blizzards again this year and making this the best Miracle Treat Day ever," said Denise Hutton, Vice President Marketing Dairy Queen Canada. "We are always overwhelmed by everyone's generosity and dedication on Miracle Treat Day and the results continue to surpass our expectations year after year."
