Reduced Traffic on the A-15 Northbound and Southbound at the Nuns' Island
Bridge - Repair Work from November 20 to 22, 2009

LONGUEUIL, Nov. 19 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated wishes to inform the public of the closure of Highway 15 South near Nuns' Island from Friday, November 20 at 11:00 p.m. until Sunday, November 22 at 12:00 p.m. in order to carry out repair work on the deck of the Nuns' Island Bridge.

For this occasion, Highway 15 South will be diverted to one lane against traffic on Highway 15 North. Traffic will then be reduced to one lane southbound and to two lanes northbound on Highway 15. Motorists heading to the South Shore will not be able to access Nuns' Island by the usual exits: 57 and 57N.

Please also note the complete closure of the Bonaventure Expressway at Exit 2 (Pierre-Dupuy Ave.) heading toward Champlain Bridge (eastbound) on Saturday, November 21 starting at 10 p.m. until Monday, November 23 at 6:30 a.m. In order to access Nuns' Island, a detour road will be put in place at the entrance of the Chemin des Moulins toward Bonaventure Expressway.

The reopening of all lanes on the Nuns' Island Bridge will be made either earlier or later (maximum 5:00 a.m. on Monday morning) depending on the work's progress.

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) will be positioned in several strategic locations over the weekend to ensure traffic flow. Variable message signs will inform motorists on the recommended detour roads to be taken.
