Former VP of CarProof joins Refresh Financial to drive strategy through hyper-growth
KELOWNA, BC, June 20, 2017 /CNW/ - Refresh Financial announced today that Karim Hemani, former VP of Ontario's CarProof, has joined the executive team as Chief Operating Officer. Hemani was brought on at CarProof by private equity owners to drive company value and trigger an eventual exit which he more than accomplished as CarProof sold for $650m to their US competitor.
Hemani is no stranger to the C-suite. Over the last 14 years, he has driven consumer-focused business strategy and profitability in retail, automotive and financial services through senior roles in companies including Sears, where he led online operations for Sears.ca; Toronto Star Newspaper, one of Canada's largest daily newspapers; and easyhome Ltd., as Vice President of eCommerce and Omnichannel.
"I am thrilled to join the team at Refresh and am excited to bring my experience so far to a company that helps so many Canadians. Through my previous roles, I've seen the need for the solution that Refresh provides and am excited to be part of this great company during this stage of its growth," says Hemani.
Canadian Business and PROFIT today ranked Refresh Financial No.3 on the Startup 50 ranking of Canada's Top New Growth Companies in fall of 2016. Refresh Financial made the list with two-year revenue growth of 1,948%.
"I saw the incredible contributions that Karim made at CarProof and easyfinancial and am very excited to have him on our team. He genuinely believes in the mission and vision of Refresh and brings the right skills to help us at this stage in our growth," states Michael Wendland, CEO.
