REGINA, Dec. 11, 2012 /CNW/ - The used oil material drop-off EcoCentre at 1301 Fleury Street, Regina, closes permanently on Tuesday, December 18th. No used oil materials will be accepted after Friday, December 14th.
In making the announcement, Merv Hey, Program Operations Manager, SARRC, said: "The purpose-built EcoCentre for holding used oil materials is being relocated. The new location and owner/operator will be announced as soon as possible in 2013."
The Fleury Street EcoCentre has been managed by SARCAN. However, a change in the organization's plans prompted the move to a new owner/operator's location. A crane and truck will be on site Wednesday, December 19th to remove the building.
Hey assured Regina recyclers that the used oil recycling program continues to be well served by ten other registered collection points in the city. These businesses accept only small volumes of used oil, used oil filters and used plastic oil containers. There are no drum pumps available at these locations for larger volumes of used oil.
For the location of the ten collection points or for a collector of larger volumes of used oil materials, visit www.usedoilrecyclingsk.com or call toll free 1-877-645-7275. SARRC (Saskatchewan Association for Resource Recovery Corp.) manages the industry-led stewardship program for used oil materials in Saskatchewan.
