Regulator reviewing Sunridge RV's licence
EDMONTON, March 11, 2016 /CNW/ - The Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council is reviewing the status of Sunridge RV Inc.'s Airdrie, Alta. and Crossfield, Alta. business licence. AMVIC, the provincial automotive regulator, issued Sunridge RV Inc. a Notice of Administrative Review on March 10, 2016.
Sunridge RV Inc. was ordered into bankruptcy on March 9, 2016. While the business is still technically licensed by AMVIC, the trustee has confirmed it is no longer operating.
AMVIC has the authority to cancel licences in accordance with the procedures defined by the Fair Trading Act. AMVIC is taking those necessary steps as licencing the business is no longer in the public interest.
AMVIC has been working with the appointed trustee to provide consumer protection.

Background:
On Friday March 4, 2016 AMVIC issued a news release, Sunridge RV seeks creditor protection. Sunridge RV had sought protection from its creditors by filing a Notice of Intention to the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy Canada. The Notice of Intention to make a bankruptcy proposal was filed on Feb. 22, 2016. Alvarez & Marsal Canada Inc. had been appointed the licensed insolvency trustee.
On March 10, 2016 AMVIC issued a news release, Sunridge RV Inc. in bankruptcy, following court proceedings on March 9, 2016.
