Rehabilitation of Bonaventure Expressway: Worksite demobilization over the weekend—complete night closures expected Français
LONGUEUIL, QC, Nov. 14, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) would like to inform road users that the Champlain Bridge bound lanes of the Bonaventure Expressway will be completely closed overnight at Notre-Dame Street from Friday, November 16, at midnight, to Saturday, November 17, at 9 a.m.
The downtown Montreal bound lanes of this section of the expressway will then be closed overnight from Saturday, November 17, at midnight, to Sunday, November 18, at 9 a.m.
During this period, road users are encouraged to use Nazareth Street and then follow the detour set up via Wellington Street, to access the expressway towards the Champlain Bridge. Towards downtown Montreal, road users are invited to take Exit 2 (Pierre-Dupuy Avenue) on the expressway and then follow the service lane. Consult our map to see the detours that have been set up.
Please also note that during the day on Sunday, mobile demobilization work will take place on the Bonaventure Expressway, partially hindering traffic lanes until 8 p.m. This means that on Sunday, November 18, at 8 p.m., the entire Bonaventure Expressway will be open—three lanes per direction—as well as all of the expressway's access and exit ramps.
These closures are necessary to demobilize the Bonaventure Expressway worksite that was established in June. The four-phase refurbishment of this section of the expressway has made it possible to repair the concrete box girders that the traffic lanes rest upon.
Closure of Exits 60 from A-15 North and South from Friday morning to Saturday night
Finally, please note that exits 60 of A-15 North and South towards downtown Montreal via the Bonaventure Expressway will be completely closed to traffic from 11 a.m. on Friday, November 16, to 10 p.m. on Saturday, November 17.
During this period, downtown Montreal can be accessed via exit 58 of A-15 North via Clément Bridge and the Bonaventure Expressway. A detour will also be set up for users coming from A-15 South via exit 57-N and Pointe Nord of Nuns' Island, in order to access the Bonaventure Expressway.
Note that this work may be postponed depending on weather conditions. To follow the work in progress, road users are encouraged to visit www.champlainbridge.ca.
