Reisner and MacPherson plead guilty in Provincial Court to breaching ASC Order
CALGARY, Oct. 7, 2013 /CNW/ - Vendivision Inc. directors Sidney John Reisner and Gregory Daniel MacPherson have plead guilty in Provincial Court to charges of selling Vendivision securities and acting as directors and officers of Vendivision and other issuers in breach of an April 10, 2008 Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) order. The two men also plead guilty to selling Vendivision securities without registration with the ASC. Charges of engaging in an illegal distribution of securities and for sales of securities to certain investors were withdrawn by the ASC.
The charges were brought in June 2011 and the trial in Provincial Court commenced in October 2012.
Provincial Court Judge Van Harten heard sentencing arguments and has reserved his decision until December 12, 2013.
The ASC is the regulatory agency responsible for administering the province's securities laws. It is entrusted to foster a fair and efficient capital market in Alberta and to protect investors. As a member of the Canadian Securities Administrators, the ASC works to improve, coordinate and harmonize the regulation of Canada's capital markets.
