PARIS, France, July 3, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Relaxnews, worldwide leader in lifestyle and leisure news, and BE Interactive, Canadian leader in the sector, have signed an agreement for joint expansion in Canada.
The agreement, which takes effect July 1, 2012, will bring together the content offering and editorial, marketing and technological expertise of the two firms. The partnership will take the form of a usage license for the AFP-Relaxnews wire service accorded to BE Interactive.
The AFP, strategic partner of Relaxnews on the global level, will retain exclusive rights for distribution of the AFP-Relaxnews service for current clients of the platform in Canada and will also continue to develop its client portfolio independently as well as in coordination with BE Interactive.
The objective: to significantly increase joint turnover in the country's French and English-language markets.
Founded in 2003 by Martin D'Anjou, the BE Interactive content agency quickly made its mark in Canada as a key player. BE provides its clients with appealing, easy-to-integrate content in growth sectors.
The agency now boasts a diverse and prestigious portfolio of clients, ranging from the Huffington Post Quebec on the web to movie theater chain Cineplex, as well as free dailies like 24 Hours and music channel MusiquePlus.
Jérôme and Pierre Doncieux, co-CEOs of Relaxnews, "are delighted to sign this strategic licensing agreement with BE Interactive, in light of the qualified team of Martin D'Anjou and the potential of the Canadian market. With this accord, Relaxnews reinforces its objective of worldwide leadership in lifestyle and leisure news."
For Martin D'Anjou, CEO of BE Interactive, "the alliance with Relaxnews is further recognition of BE's expertise and confirms the potential of the Canadian market. Our complementary profiles allow our joint service to be immediately operational and to envision large-scale objectives. This agreement makes our service the country's most comprehensive offering in this sector."
Relaxnews and BE Interactive do not rule out expanding their partnership in the coming years, including on the financial level.
