BERLIN, Feb. 14, 2013 /CNW/ - German satellite TV provider Sky Germany AG are to open a new customer service center on the outskirts of Berlin today, the latest high-profile international company showing a willingness to keep business services and processes at home.
That includes outsourced processes. Sky Germany is working with UK company Serco, who will reap the benefits of having a location within Germany as a result. Vietnamese company FPT Corporation has recently opened a software outsourcing operation in Düsseldorf as well, also perceiving the opportunities that a presence in Europe's strongest economy holds. 'German quality made in Vietnam' is their catchphrase.
There is little wonder then that a German Chapter of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals is to hold its inaugural meeting this year on March 4, at the offices of Germany Trade and Invest in Berlin.
Germany Trade and Invest, heavily involved in the set-up of the Chapter, will also be at the Outsourcing World Summit 2013 in Phoenix on February 18, explaining not only what the location advantages of Germany are, but also reminding investors of the exceptional flexibility and education of the workforce and the stability of the economy and infrastructure.
"It's important to note that it's not the quantity of business processes being outsourced that is changing, but the actual types of processes themselves," said Dr. Josefine Dutschmann, Senior Manager Business Services, at Germany Trade and Invest.
"More companies are looking at outsourcing processes like Human Resources, but keeping those processes within national or economic borders. This is creating a wealth of opportunities for service industry companies in Germany as some of these processes are repatriated."
Germany Trade & Invest is the foreign trade and inward investment promotion agency of the Federal Republic of Germany. The organization advises foreign companies looking to expand their business activities in the German market. It provides information on foreign trade to German companies that seek to enter foreign markets.
