Reliance further strengthens board with experienced US-based Non-Executive Director

VANCOUVER, Nov. 26, 2013 /CNW/ - Reliance Resources Limited (TSX: RI) ("Reliance") or ("the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of a Dr. Michael G. Nelson to the Board of Directors as a non-executive director.
Dr. Nelson is Associate Professor and Chair of the Mining Engineering Department at the University of Utah, and is an experienced and accomplished mining industry professional. He received a B.S. degree in metallurgical engineering and an M.S. degree in applied physics from the University of Utah. He earned his Ph.D. in mineral engineering from West Virginia University.
He has previously worked for Kennecott Utah Copper, Western Zirconium, Consol Energy Inc., and EIMCO Process Equipment Co. In addition, he has consulted for FL Smidth Minerals, Rio Tinto Kennecott, CODELCO El Teniente, BHP Billiton, Consol Energy, and for 19 junior mining companies and equipment suppliers, including a number of gold, copper and iron mining companies.

Dr. Nelson has co-authored and contributed to 16 books, including three chapters in the third edition of the SME Mining Engineering Handbook. He has published 37 peer-reviewed papers and 24 invited papers.
He is a member of Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (U.S.), the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, the Utah Mining Association, the Northwest Mining Association, and the Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute.
