CHÂTEAUGUAY, QC, April 25, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The ministère des Transports du Québec wishes to remind road users that both westbound lanes of the Honoré-Mercier Bridge will be closed to traffic from Friday, April 25th, 10 PM, to Monday, April 28th, 5 AM.
As previously announced, both westbound lanes will also be closed on following dates:
- From Friday, May 2nd, 10 PM, to Monday, May 5th, 5 AM;
- From Friday, May 9th, 10 PM, to Monday, May 12th, 5 AM;
- From Friday, June 6th, 10 PM, to Monday, June 9th, 5 AM;
During this period, there will be contraflow traffic on the downstream bridge (towards Montreal), with one single lane in each direction.
These lane closures are required for repair work of the structural elements, under the bridge.
The access ramp to the bridge from La Prarie (route 132 West) will be closed to traffic. Users will have to continue on route 132 West and take the U-turn at Blind Ladies Hill Road. Signalization will be in place to direct users.
These interventions might be postponed or shortened due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression. The Ministère will keep you informed in due time.
Other lane closures might be necessary for such work in the coming months. Efforts are constantly put forward to coordinate these hindrances with other construction sites in the Montreal area.
Remind that the Honoré-Mercier is under both provincial and federal jurisdictions. For more information, take a look at the Ministère des Transports du Québec's (MTQ) web page and at the Jacques Cartier Champlain Bridges Incorporated's (JCCBI) web site.
