Replacement of Bearing Devices: Complete Closure of the Jacques Cartier Bridge during the night from Monday, May 14 to Tuesday, May 15 Français
LONGUEUIL, QC, May 11, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) wishes to inform motorists of the complete closure on the Jacques Cartier Bridge at night from 1 AM to 4 AM, in order to continue with the scheduled replacement of 10 bearing devices.
This week's complete closure on the Jacques Cartier Bridge will take place in the night of Monday, May 14 to Tuesday, May 15 (1 AM to 4 AM).
Please note that this work falls within the scope of the regular maintenance program of the Jacques Cartier Bridge. The bearing devices replacement program started in 2006 and, to this day, 33 bearing devices have been replaced (including six in 2012). In the coming months, six new devices will be installed under the bridge.
The work will be taking place underneath the bridge and will require complete closures in order to avoid overloads caused by vehicles. These major manoeuvres will be taking place at night, in order to limit disturbances for road users.
To view photos of the work that is currently taking place, we invite road users to visit our blog: www.jacquescartierbridge.ca.
Please note that these closures could be rescheduled due to weather conditions and progress of the work.
