BROCKVILLE, ON, June 18, 2015 /CNW/ - Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Brockville General Hospital have issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) to build and finance the hospital's redevelopment project.
The project will consolidate programs and services offered on the Garden Street site to the Charles Street site. The project involves a combination of new construction and renovation, which will include:
- An expanded Acute Mental Health and Addictions Program
- Increased inpatient beds in the Complex Continuing Care, Palliative Care, and Rehabilitation departments
- Relocation of support facilities
The request for qualifications is the first step in the procurement process to select a team to build and finance the project. Submissions will be reviewed to pre-qualify project teams that have the necessary construction capability, experience and financial capacity to undertake a project of this size and complexity. Pre-qualified teams will then be invited to respond to a request for proposals, which is expected to be issued in early 2016.
IO and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care are working with Brockville General Hospital to redevelop the facility, which will be publicly owned, controlled and accountable.
