Restoration and enhancement of Dolbeau-Mistassini marina facilities - Government of Canada supports Club nautique de Dolbeau-Mistassini community project Français
DOLBEAU-MISTASSINI, QC, April 24, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Key local stakeholders have long been asking for concrete, sustainable measures to improve community and recreational infrastructure. The Government of Canada is proud to invest in projects such as this one by the Club nautique de Dolbeau-Mistassini, which contribute to the strength and vitality of all regions of the country.
The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that the Club nautique de Dolbeau-Mistassini (website in French only) has been granted $232,270 in financial assistance, in the form of a non-repayable contribution, for the restoration and enhancement of the local marina's facilities.
The Club nautique de Dolbeau-Mistassini, a non-profit organization, was founded in 2011. Its mission is to manage the facilities of the Dolbeau-Mistassini marina, a municipal infrastructure on the Mistassini River, which flows into Lac Saint-Jean. The location is used by boaters, with or without boats, and by fishers.
The funding awarded through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP150) will enable the organization to stabilize the shoreline, overhaul the boat launches, landscape the site, repair the walkways and install lighting on them. The funding will also be used to pay the professional fees for studies, plans and services needed for the work.
CED is one of the six regional development agencies under the responsibility of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.
