Results of the 2017 Elections to the Board of Directors of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec Français
MONTREAL, May 26, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - At the end of the voting period from May 5 to 26, 2017 in which members of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec in the electoral regions concerned were invited to participate, 4 directors were elected and 1 was reelected for a three-year term in the four electoral regions with vacancies.
Mauricie–Bois-Francs region (participation rate: 8.59%)
- Mr. Maxime Belletête, Eng. (elected)
Montreal region (participation rate: 5.74%)
- Mr. Zaki Ghavitian, Eng., FEC (elected)
- Ms. Carole Lamothe, Eng. (elected)
- Mr. Alexandre Marcoux, Eng. (reelected)
Quebec City region (participation rate: 9.01%)
- Mr. Nicolas Turgeon, Eng. (elected)
Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region
Since no candidacies were received for the vacancy in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region, the OIQ's Board of Directors will fill this position by cooptation, in accordance with section 77 of the Professional Code.
The members concerned voted electronically for directors in the electoral regions with vacancies by filling out their ballots on line.
An official report (in French) with the full results was prepared by Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton. In accordance with section 45 of the Regulation respecting representation on the Board of Directors of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and elections to said Board, the report will be published in the participant handbook distributed at the Annual General Meeting of members, which will take place on June 15.
The elected directors will begin their duties on June 16, at the first meeting of the 97th Board of Directors of the OIQ. The Board of Directors will also elect the Executive Committee for 2017-2018 on that date.
