Revera Board Appoints Thomas G. Wellner as President and Chief Executive Officer

MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 14, 2014 /CNW/ - Revera Inc. is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has appointed Thomas G. Wellner as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Mr. Wellner was most recently co-CEO of LifeLabs, and was previously President and CEO of CML HealthCare where he led the transformation of the organization by establishing a new strategic direction and improving operational performance, while completing multiple transactions to provide greater value to shareholders, employees and key partners.  He has also served as the President and CEO of Therapure Biopharma, a company specializing in contract development and manufacturing of biologics. For the twenty years previous, Mr. Wellner held senior executive leadership and operational roles in North America and internationally with the global pharmaceutical firm Eli Lilly, including President and General Manager of the company's German operations.

Mr. Wellner holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences from Queen's University, and has completed executive education through Harvard Business School. He has been a guest lecturer on international business and healthcare at Harvard, Rotman and INSEAD Schools of Business. He has also been engaged in significant advisory work within public equity and venture capital communities.  Mr. Wellner currently sits on the Boards of Cipher Pharmaceuticals, Diamedica, Freshbooks, Atlantic Healthcare Plc. and Life Sciences Ontario.
