Third Group of Reviews of Apprenticeship Ratios Now in Effect
TORONTO, Nov. 26, 2012 /CNW/ - The review of apprenticeship ratios signals the College's commitment to its future members and stakeholders to solicit their feedback and hear their voices on issues that impact their practices and businesses across the province. The College believes that the open and transparent review of these ratios is an important step in promoting fairness and safety in the workplace.
Review Panels are calling for submissions on the journeyperson to apprentice ratios from the third groups of trades, which includes:
- Group C-11: Construction Millwright
- Group C-12: Ironworker-generalist; Ironworker-structural & ornamental; Ironworker-Reinforcing rodworker
- Group C-13: Painter and decorator Br 1-commercial and residential; Painter and decorator Br 2-industrial P&D
Guidelines for submission and additional information about the process and deadlines can be found on the College's website at www.collegeoftrades.ca and click on the section "Ratio Reviews".
Submissions for the next groups will be accepted beginning November 30th. This grouping includes:
- Group C-14: Plumber; Steamfitter
- Group C-15: Refrigeration and air conditioning systems mechanic; Residential air conditioning systems mechanic
- Group C-16: Residential (low rise) sheet metal installer; Sheet metal worker
