MISSISSAUGA, ON, Dec. 1 /CNW/ - Sexual Assault/Rape Crisis Centre of Peel in collaboration with the Artist Collective and Kumkum Ramchandani hosts its 2^nd Annual "And Still We Rise" Gala at the Novotel Hotel, Mississauga on Dec. 5, 2010.  The purpose of the Gala is to commemorate the 14 women killed in the Montreal Massacre in 1989, to remember the 582 Stolen First Nations Sisters, to celebrate the resiliency of women as they resist everyday violence against women globally and to connect the local and global issues of violence, including sexual violence. The fundraising Gala features a dynamic program of cultural production, including a keynote address by none other than "the most unmanageable woman" in the Punjab Legislative Assembly in Pakistan, Humaira Awais Shahid - a Journalist, a Human Rights Activist, a renowned Parliamentarian and more ...
