From Internet television to mobile acquisitions, success is within reach
TORONTO, Nov. 17 /CNW/ - When Slava Levin took to the airwaves in 2004, he set out to create a market for broadcast content in a variety of languages, and bring a taste of home to communities across the country. A few years and several battles with the CRTC later, Levin has launched NexTV to offer expats in 12 communities direct-to-consumer Internet television, with over 150 channels in 11 different languages.
Slava Levin is now looking to the CRTC for help and views its regulations as necessary to protect his venture. Writer Siri Agrell profiles Levin's story in the winter issue of Your Business magazine available in select issues of The Globe and Mail on Thursday, November 18, 2010.
