QUEBEC CITY, Sept. 5, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Paul A. Pelletier, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CAA-Quebec, is pleased to announce that Richard Lachance has held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer since this past June. Mr. Lachance is a seasoned managerial professional who was previously a senior executive with Québec Blue Cross, a longstanding health and travel insurance provider partner of CAA-Quebec.
"Since assuming my new role, I have been able to get a firm sense of the scope of CAA-Quebec's operations and what a dynamic team we have," Mr. Lachance said, adding: "With its principal areas of activity—namely, automotive, residential, travel and insurance services—our organization is part of the daily lives of its 1.2 million members, and indeed of the Quebec population as a whole. I have therefore taken up my duties with a great deal of pride and enthusiasm."
For his part, Mr. Pelletier explained: "When he arrived, Mr. Lachance already knew the organization very well, and had worked in environments similar to those of CAA-Quebec, whether in public assistance, advisory services, or community ventures. Add to that his experience of the travel industry, gained while in management positions with air carriers, and we can be sure that CAA-Quebec is in good hands!"
Richard Lachance has a degree in Business Administration from Montreal's École des hautes études commerciales (now HEC Montréal), and is a member of the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec (order of chartered administrators). He is also Vice-Chair of the Board of the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada and a member of the Board of the Fondation OLO.
CAA-Quebec, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1904, provides automotive, travel, residential and financial services and privileges to its 1,230,000 members.
