TORONTO, June 24, 2014 /CNW/ - Moores Clothing For Men, Canada's largest specialty menswear retailer, has added a new face to their 5th annual Canadian Suit Drive campaign to help spread the word.
One of Canada's most recognizable TV personalities, Entertainment Tonight Canada Co-Host Rick Campanelli, has joined Moores' Canadian Suit Drive in its efforts to collect donations of gently used professional clothing to help disadvantaged men who are transitioning back into the workplace.
"Everyone has a suit story. I remember when I didn't have to wear a suit to work for 10 years, then I landed a job at Entertainment Tonight Canada and a suit turned into my everyday look. I get excited to step into my wardrobe room every morning and put on a suit - it makes me feel really special," said Campanelli.
"I feel such confidence when I am wearing a nice suit and I realized early on just how important a first impression can be. There is nothing like a tailored suit to help add an air of confidence and authority. I feel like it is our duty as guys to help each other succeed. Donating a suit to help someone else evoke those same feelings of confidence in an interview or a presentation is such a small action with immense pay off. I am honoured to take part in Moores' Canadian Suit Drive," he added.
Once affectionately known by his boyish charm as MuchMusic's "Rick the Temp," Campanelli made the leap to Entertainment Tonight Canada and his easygoing, upfront style quickly made him a viewers' favourite from coast to coast, proving he was anything but a "temporary" fixture in the media.
The need to help unemployed Canadian men is a very real issue. In April, there were 744,600 reported cases of unemployed men across Canada. Moores' Canadian Suit Drive provides free suits and professional clothing to men seeking to turn their lives around by working directly with more than 60 local recipient organizations across Canada that provide job readiness programs for men seeking employment.
Now in its fifth year, this year's Canadian Suit Drive runs from July 1-31. Canadians can donate men's suits, shirts, jackets, pants, ties, belts and shoes as well as women's professional clothing at any of the more than 100 Moores' stores across Canada. As a thank you for donating, customers will receive 50 per cent off their next purchase from Moores (excluding shoes, clearance, and Exceptional Value items).
