"I'm very excited to be getting back in touch directly with the people of Ottawa, and allowing them to have their say," said Gibbons. "On top of the call-in portion of the show, we'll be interacting through social media so that all the people of Ottawa are part of the show and talking to each other."
"Rick is a highly respected journalist and community leader with deep roots in Ottawa," said Steve Winogron, News Director and CFRA Program Director, Bell Media Radio. "We're looking forward to his return to 580 News Talk Radio, bringing with him an unparalleled experience, allowing him to hold 'the establishment' to account on all levels of government."
Gibbons draws upon 37 years of media experience as host of his new radio show, having worked on assignments ranging from Parliament Hill to foreign posts in London, England, and Germany. His wide-ranging journalistic career has included beats in politics, business, and military affairs, where his ground breaking reporting on the "Somalia Affair" helped trigger a public inquiry.
