Rise Asset Development Celebrates Entrepreneurial Achievement with Annual Garfinkel Awards and Announces New Funding from Rise Impact Donors
TORONTO, Jan. 11, 2016 /CNW/ - On January 12, Rise Asset Development will announce the winners of the fourth annual Dr. Paul E. Garfinkel Awards for Entrepreneurial Achievement and new donor funding to support the economic empowerment of people with mental health issues.
These awards recognize the outstanding personal and business achievements of people who have received support through Rise, which provides low interest small business loans, free training and mentorship to men and women with a history of addiction or mental health challenges.
This annual event also acknowledges the leadership and inspiring contributions of Dr. Paul E. Garfinkel, through his role as founding President and CEO of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and his leading role in the advocacy for psychiatric science and reducing the stigma associated with mental health challenges and addictions.

Rise, with the support of its Knowledge Partners, the Rotman School of Management and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), provides low interest small business loans and mentorship to men and women living with mental illness and addictions who are interested in pursuing self-employment. The Rotman School and CAMH participate in advisory functions, lending their respective expertise for business mentoring and mental health supports to the benefit of Rise clients.
