Ritchie Bros. Edmonton auction next week features 6,500+ equipment items and trucks
The massive September 10 - 12 auction will be filmed as part of the TV show "Selling Big", with the second season premiering tonight in Canada (September 3) on the Cottage Life channel at 10 p.m.
EDMONTON, Sept. 3, 2014 /CNW/ - Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (NYSE andTSX: RBA), the world's largest industrial auctioneer, will sell more than 6,500 heavy equipment items and trucks at its permanent auction site in Edmonton, AB on September 10 - 12, 2014. The three-day unreserved auction will also be filmed as part of the second season of Selling Big, a documentary television series focusing on Ritchie Bros.' customers, its employees and a whole lot of equipment. Season two will air Wednesdays at 10 p.m. (Eastern & Pacific time) on the Cottage Life channel—the first episode of Season Two premieres tonight (September 3).
Equipment highlights in the September Edmonton auction include 125+ truck tractors, 100+ compactors, 75+ excavators, 50+ wheel loaders, 45+ crawler tractors and 25+ articulated dump trucks, as well as drilling rigs, cranes and more. Bids can be made in the auction in person, online at www.rbauction.com and by proxy.
"After record-breaking sales in April and June we are back with our largest-ever September auction in Edmonton," said Jim Rotlisberger, Regional Sales Manager, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. "We originally planned for this auction to be two days, but equipment kept coming and the yard was getting fuller by the day, so we decided to grow it to three days. This is the most equipment we've ever sold in our September auction. As always, every single item in the auction will be sold without minimum bids or reserve prices. If you've never been to an auction before, or only ever seen us on Selling Big, we encourage you to come out and see it in person. It's going to be fun."
Equipment in the auction will be sold for 825+ sellers, including a large selection of transportation equipment as part of a complete dispersal for Doug's Tank Truck Service, a crude oil transport company based in Stettler, AB.
"We are selling our entire fleet, including tank trucks, water trucks, truck tractors and trailers—it's all ready for a new owner," said Mike Law, Secretary of Doug's Tank Truck Service. "Doug's Tank Truck Service has a long history, operating in Stettler, AB for more than 30 years. We purchased the company nine years ago from the original owner and have been transporting crude oil and water for the oil industry. After being in the industry for close to 40 years, my wife and I have decided to focus more on grain farming, which we have also been doing since the 1970s."
The auction will be held at Ritchie Bros. permanent Edmonton auction site (1500 Sparrow Drive, Nisku, AB) on Wednesday, September 10 to Friday, September 12; starting at 8 a.m. each day. Consignments are still being accepted. If you have equipment or trucks to sell please contact the auction site directly at +1.780.955.2486.
