Ritchie Bros. sells 3,875+ equipment items and trucks for US$45+ million in Houston, Texas
Two-day unreserved public auction attracts 4,125+ bidders from 53 countries
HOUSTON, Aug. 28, 2015 /CNW/ - Ritchie Bros. (NYSE andTSX: RBA), the world's largest industrial auctioneer, sold US$45+ million of equipment and trucks at its unreserved public auction in Houston, Texas on August 26 – 27, 2015. More than 3,875 items were sold in the auction, including 285+ truck tractors, 160 frac tanks, 110 excavators, 55+ loader backhoes, 25+ crawler tractors, 55+ flatbed trucks, 25+ dump trucks, 25 cranes, and more. The two-day auction attracted 4,125+ bidders from 53 countries, including 2,500+ online bidders. Bids were made in person, online rbauction.com and by proxy.
"With great participation both onsite and online, we achieved strong and steady prices on construction and transportation equipment in this week's auction," said Alan McVicker, Regional Sales Manager, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. "In particular, there were more than 50 specialized LNG truck tractors and a portable LNG refueling station that sold very well. These assets have a limited market and we once again showcased our ability to reach the right buyers to achieve great returns for consignors of specialized assets."
Buyers from outside Texas purchased US$24+ million (53%) of equipment and trucks, with equipment sold to buyers from as far away as Venezuela, Spain, and India. Online bidders purchased US$21+ million (48%) of the equipment in the auction.
