Birkin bags, Patek Philippe watches, 100-carat emeralds
TORONTO, Nov. 19, 2013 /CNW/ - Ritchies Auctioneers will hold the Prestige Auction on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m., the largest fall 2013 Ritchies auction. The Prestige Auction will be conducted in the Bronfman Room at the Royal Ontario Museum.
"We're proud to have put Canada on the forefront in the international auction scene last time we held an auction at the ROM.," says Hon. Col. Kashif Khan, Managing Director of Ritchies Auction House. "Ritchies set a record auctioning a 50-carat diamond for over three million dollars. We hope to set another international record."
With over 380 lots valued over $20 million, the auction will carry one-of-a-kind pieces and luxury items. The Prestige Auction will be unique, featuring items from different auction categories: jewellery and watches; designer handbags; fine art; decorative art; and estate jewellery.
"It can be expensive to buy antique treasures from a dealer," says Khan. "It's not often that you get an opportunity to buy pieces like the ones Ritchies is offering at a fraction of the price at an auction."
Media is invited to preview the items by appointment.
Founded in 1868 as a small trading company, Ritchies went on to become Canada's leading auctioneer of fine Canadian art, fine international art, decorative art, jewellery, rare wine and other personal property. In 2011 the Ritchies name was purchased and has been re-invented by a new team as a world-class auctioneer of fine gems and jewellery, truly putting Toronto on the international stage. The new Ritchies team praises the incredible feats achieved by Ritchies at auction and intend to surpass those accolades and achievements.
