RNAO and ONA hold joint media conference
TORONTO, May 2, 2018 /CNW/ - Just days before a highly anticipated election call, members of the province's two largest nursing organizations are coming together to draw the public's attention to a critical issue facing Ontarians.
Representatives of the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) and the Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) will hold a media conference at Queen's Park on May 7 - the first day of Nursing Week - to talk about current RN staffing practices in hospitals.
Representatives of the two organizations say patients are not being well served and the political parties that hope to form the next government must adopt policies that put patients first and ensure safe and health quality outcomes. They also say health care must be a central issue in the upcoming campaign given the province's growing population and the high acuity levels of patients in hospital today.
