Road Closure Alert - Ellerdale Road (from Côte St-Luc Rd. to Queen Mary Rd.) in Hampstead, August 21 - 23

HAMPSTEAD, QC, Aug. 19, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Town of Hampstead will close a one block section of Ellerdale between Côte St-Luc Road and Queen Mary Road in Hampstead for the installation of a new water main. This temporary closure begins Wednesday, August 21 to August 23, barring any unforeseen delays due to poor weather and other similar obstacles.

This project is part of the water main rehabilitation project on Côte St. Luc Road, where a west-bound lane of traffic is currently closed from Ellerdale to Holtham to the end of August.

Access to residents living on Ellerdale will be permitted via Queen Mary Road. The water main is located at the top of Ellerdale at Côte St-Luc Rd., necessitating the complete closure of the intersection.

The road closure will impact commuters who use Ellerdale to access Côte St-Luc Rd. Commuters are encouraged to use MacDonald Avenue or Stratford Road to avoid detours.

The closure of Ellerdale is required to enable contractors to replace the water main efficiently and in a timely fashion that reduces the impact for commuters.
