Road tests at caaquebec.com: Revamped content, member-submitted opinions and used-vehicle ratings under an exclusive partnership Français
QUEBEC CITY, April 24, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - CAA-Quebec is introducing today a fully revamped Road Tests section on its website, providing Internet users with access to better organized content, enhanced with the addition of used-vehicle fact sheets through an exclusive partnership with Benoit Charette, author of the Guide des véhicules d'occasion (used vehicles guide).
Reviews of new - and used - vehicles
Visitors to caaquebec.com/roadtests can now read fact sheets describing various used vehicles from 2007 to 2012. "A partnership with Benoit Charette, author of the Guide des véhicules d'occasion, is a definite asset," says Sophie Gagnon, Assistant Vice President, Public and Government Relations, CAA-Quebec. "Information from Mr. Charette's guide will now have an online showcase, giving visitors access to additional information that will prove highly useful when the time comes to buy or lease a new or used vehicle."
Mr. Charette, for his part, says this online visibility will breathe new life into his popular Guide des véhicules d'occasion. "For my guide, a partnership with CAA-Quebec seemed obvious," he remarks. "This is an organization that is recognized for its neutrality and objectivity. By linking information from the guide to its previous road tests of new vehicles, CAA-Quebec is offering an extensive database that will help consumers find the right car, used or new," he added.
A chance for CAA-Quebec members to take part
Something else that's new in this section is the opportunity for CAA-Quebec members to rate vehicles. "We decided to open this section to our members so that they can add their reviews and recommendations," Ms. Gagnon explains. "This lets them take part in the evaluation by rating the cars they know according to various criteria, such as comfort and fuel consumption. In this way, Internet users will have access not only to reviews from our specialists but also to comments from the everyday users who will make this section even better. This will most assuredly add value to the site."
Mr. Charette adds: "It is also worth remembering that their comments will be taken into account when future editions of the Guide des véhicules d'occasion are published. In this way, they will be contributing to both the digital and print versions."
Rich content, easy browsing
The content of the new Road Tests section will be enhanced extensively during the coming weeks and will eventually include a wealth of useful data on nearly all vehicles on the province's roads, new and used. "We want this section to become an unparalleled source for anyone seeking information such as a detailed evaluation of a vehicle in its original unused condition with its full data sheet, the long-term reliability and resale value of used vehicles, manufacturer recalls, problems to watch out for, and much more," Ms. Gagnon notes. "The section will be improved on a regular basis with the aim of it becoming a reference in Quebec and an indispensable tool for anyone who wants to buy a vehicle."
For a glimpse of the new section, there is a short presentation video on the CAA-Quebec YouTube channel (in French only).
