OTTAWA, Dec. 5, 2014 /CNW/ - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency invites the public to comment on the draft Agreement to establish a joint review panel with the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) for the environmental assessment of the proposed Robb Trend Coal Mine Expansion project in Alberta. The Agency and the AER will be holding information sessions in the project area.
The Agency has developed an Agreement with the AER for the conduct of the environmental assessment. The Agreement establishes the mandate and authority of the joint panel and its composition, as well as the procedures and timelines for the review.
The public is invited to submit written comments on the draft Agreement in either official language to the Agency by January 20, 2015. After taking these comments into consideration, the Agreement will be finalized and made public.

The Agency and the AER invite the public to attend information sessions in the project area starting the week of January 12, 2015. More information is available in the Public Notice issued today.
