VANCOUVER, Sept. 15, 2016 /CNW/ - LaSalle College Vancouver, one of the leading educational institutions in the design industry in B.C., today announced the appointment of Robin Hemmingsen as President. LaSalle College Vancouver is a member of the LCI Education network.
Robin Hemmingsen's extensive experience and reputation in higher education in Canada, including her ability to build and lead strong teams, her passion for working with Vancouver business communities, and her commitment to delivering exemplary post-secondary education to further grow the provincial creative sector are major assets to the network's stakeholders and particularly our students.

Robin's work experience includes Dean of Business at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), where she was responsible for all full-time and continuing education business programming including media arts and Faculty, Program Head and then Chair in a multitude of business and technology programs at both Centennial and Seneca College in Toronto. Prior to entering the education realm, Robin worked as Director of Finance at Nabisco Brands Inc., and most recently served as Managing Director of the Autism Society of British Columbia (ASBC) where she promoted understanding, acceptance and full community inclusion of people with autism and intellectual disabilities.
Robin currently serves as a Board Director on the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade (GVBOT) and a member of the Policy Council, having championed youth leadership in Vancouver by chairing the GVBOT Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) program and working with the GVBOT Company of Young Professionals (CYP) to build leadership capacity. Robin also serves on the Vancouver Public Library (VPL) Foundation Board, acknowledging the important role of the city's public libraries in supporting education and community engagement.
