OTTAWA, March 15, 2017 /CNW/ - Today, on behalf of His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, Her Honour the Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, presented the insignia of Member of the Order of Canada to Robin Hopper. The ceremony took place at Government House in Victoria, British Columbia. Mr. Hopper was appointed on November 18, 2016.

Robin Hopper is a master of his medium. An internationally respected and admired potter, teacher, author, consultant and arts activist, he has fostered growth in the area of Canadian studio ceramics. Widely regarded as an innovator, he has spent decades researching methods to develop colour and tactile patterns that draw from and extend historic ceramic traditions. A mentor to young artists, he has generously and tirelessly imparted his expertise to students and enthusiasts alike.
