MONTRÉAL, March 28, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Roche launches a collaboration with the leading diabetes app provider mySugr in Canada. Once connected to the Accu-Chek Aviva Connect meter, mySugr users in Canada can now also enjoy the wireless synchronization of glucose levels and free access to mySugr Pro. This new capability adds valuable insights for both patients and their doctors in making accurate therapy decisions.
"We are strongly committed to bringing solutions that encourage patients to stay involved and engaged in managing their diabetes," says Nathalie Chiasson, General Manager Diabetes Care, Roche Canada. "Working with a partner such as mySugr that shares Roche's set of values is a logical extension of our offering in Canada."
The Accu-Chek Aviva Connect meter features simple testing for accurate blood glucose results, an easy-to-read backlit display, and data transmission to Apple and Android devices via Bluetooth.
Through mySugr, users have quick and easy access to their diabetes data anytime, anywhere. Blood sugar average, standard deviation, medication use, carbohydrate intake, and activity levels are available on the dashboard, and additional analysis screens (in 7, 14, 30, and 90-day periods) are just a swipe away. Contextual details are always at the ready in log entries.
"Thanks to smartphones, the inconvenience of manually logging diabetes data will disappear very soon," said Frank Westermann, CEO of mySugr. "Roche has been our partner in pushing this development from the very beginning, and I'm happy to offer this feature to our Canadian users."
More than 3 Million Canadians live with diabetes —this number will grow by a staggering 40% by 2025 according to Diabetes Canada (formerly the Canadian Diabetes Association). The automatic data syncing made possible by this partnership helps mySugr further its mission of "making diabetes suck less."
